Cypripedium x ventricosum was long thought to be a new species until research showed it to be a natural hybrid of Cypripedium calceolus and Cypripedium macranthos I guess anything goes when the nights get cold and lonely. The slippers range from pale lavender to brownish, depending on which parent contributed the most genes, and the same
